CNC Brake Operator – Phoenix, AZ

Southwark Metal is a manufacturing company specializing in sheet metal fabrication for the HVAC industry. The company has been around since 1946, with our Phoenix location quickly growing, and we are looking for a beginner to intermediately experienced CNC Brake Operator. 

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure assigned work is understood prior to commencing.
  • Bend components to spec
  • Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using rulers, jigs, and clamps in combination.
  • Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Comply with fabrication and safety standards and procedures.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Complete assigned work within a given timeframe and according to specifications.


Knowledge / Skills / Expertise:

  • 0 – 5 years CNC Brake operation experience desired.  No programming experience is necessary.
  • Must have general computer skills; ability to load, interpret and create files.  Ability to learn to make minor file modifications.
  • +2 years of experience with metal forming, laser, and press brake operations preferred.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure, level, and square.
  • Understanding how to read a blueprint preferred
  • General knowledge of Autocad a plus
  • Ability and willingness to follow directions and the ability to work independently. – Good verbal communication skills.


Physical Demands:

  • This position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs, and moving your whole body.
  • The use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and hearing protection is utilized daily.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver 40 lbs without physical restrictions.


This is a 40 hour per week job to start with occasional overtime. This job description is reviewed periodically and may be subject to change.


  • 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
  • Monday to Friday
  • Possible OT
